The self-study report is one of the most important documents in the accreditation process. It represents the culmination of 1-2 years of coordinated institutional self-appraisal, reflection and introspection. It is the institution’s answer to the basic question, “Are you meeting your mission?”. Typically, a self-study steering committee coordinates campus activities for the self-study process. I’ve chaired the accreditation steering committee on two campuses, for multiple self-study reports. I’ve also been the final editor for these reports.
